Firstly, thank you FrostyCoolSlug, Zedd & Scan for making DG and restarting it at a time when we all needed some distraction in our day-to-day lives. A project such as this must have taken many 1000s of hours to build, test, debug, administer and police. No easy task even for a team of paid people, let alone a single dev coding in spare time, to keep us as a community happy and entertained.
Over the last few weeks, Frosty has put yet more of his precious time into working on the codebase to make it shareable. He's also gone out of his way to 'hand-hold' us in setting up, running and developing he game/code. He's also been gracious enough to let us continue using his server for hosting (for the short-term), to allow us to get something off the ground faster.
Alongside this, we have been familiarising ourselves with the project, as well as making some changes to the code to make it more sharable by moving previously hard-coded credentials to config.
Our current focus is on building new tooling for the running and administration of the game; with the aim of making it easier to delegate administration to other users so devs can focus on 'developing'. We will be hoping to run some speed games within the next few weeks, and all going well some longer rounds shortly after.
Once again, thanks to the creators for making this all possible. As a community we need to remember how we got to this point, and move things forward.
